Inspiration

My family is probably my greatest inspiration when it comes to shooting. And honestly my best work is usually inspired by my loved ones and taken directly from my life. All too often as young or beginning photographers we tend to duplicate the work of the masters, overlooking the beauty and importance of our own lives. I personally think that is bullshit, which is why I'm always photographing the people I love and not chasing the glory of something that has already been done. Not to detract from the importance of the masters, but to put it in perspective I would feel like a failure if after seeing my work you felt unable to get a sense of who I am as a person and the life I live. I use my art to share with others how I see the world and am completely inspired by that moment when you capture someone being themself.
