• The Audacity of Hope

I witnessed a part of American history unfold and was reduced to a weeping mess. I have never been so personally invested in an election. For over a year I have been making donations to the campaign and talking to everyone who would listen on why they should vote for Obama. I spent election day going door to door in a predominately poor neighborhood asking people if they had voted and arranging transportation for them until my feet were sore. For the first time in my lifetime I feel a part of something bigger than myself and can honestly say I have never been prouder of my country and the American people who overwhelmingly chose Hope over Fear. This election was not only a repudiation of the bush years, but a renewed testament to the American Dream, regardless of who you are and where you came from if you work hard and are determined anything is possible.

Thank you for working to get Obama elected. The enormousness of this event is mind-boggling. The whole world seems to be rejoicing - or at least breathing a sigh of relief. Still have a hard time believing that it happened. Congratulations and kudos to you.

Thank you so much! There were so many talented and dedicated people there working so hard for months, I just felt proud to be around them. It still feels somewhat unreal one week later, although now the reality of the enormous problems his administration and our country faces are setting in. Despite the problems, I still feel extremely hopeful and have the upmost faith in my president and the american people.
